The refrigerant that comes into the evaporator unit as low-pressure and low-temperature will be converted into vapor refrigerant. This is achieved by the principles of thermal heat exchanges with the air in and out of the vehicle. The main section of the evaporator, known as the core, is mainly made up of light aluminum materials.

There are plate & fin, serpentine and laminated types of evaporators.
