A thermostat or thermistor is a temperature sensor that is installed in front of the evaporator to sense the temperature of the air discharged from the evaporator. The thermistor transforms the changes of temperature into changes of resistance (voltage). When the voltage of the thermistor increases and reaches the specified voltage, the amplifer makes the magnetic clutch turn off to prevent the evaporator from frosting.
Gas type thermostat and thermistor type thermostats are commonly used.
